Our air-purifying furniture operates through an integrated approach combining ionisation, photocatalysis, and active fibres.
Ionisation
Ionising action is achieved through the production of negatively charged oxygen atoms, which then bind to positively charged contaminants in the air.
Missaglia air-purifying furniture adopts ECOPUR® technology by Oltremateria®, which is designed to break down the cell membrane of viruses and bacteria.
ECOPUR® by Oltremateria® produces this ionising effect 24 hours a day, even in the absence of light, without consuming electricity. Since it possesses pyroelectric and piezoelectric characteristics, it is activated by simple thermal or magnetic excitation, generated by the presence of electrical appliances and devices, convective air movement, and micro-electrical charges normally present in the air—phenomena occurring constantly and continuously in any indoor environment.

Photocatalysis
To improve indoor air quality, the solution is to purify it and promote air exchange. Only in this way can pathogens be significantly reduced. However, since in many contexts constant air exchange is difficult or even impossible, air purification is the only way forward.
EV 443 purifies indoor air using technology based on the principle of visible light-induced oxidative photocatalysis, which degrades the molecules of pollutants, including, first and foremost, viruses and bacteria.
EV 443 is equipped with the innovative WIVActive technology for air purification, based on the activity of titanium dioxide (TiO2). Activated by visible light generated by an LED board, it triggers the oxidative photocatalysis process that destroys the chemical bonds of viruses, bacteria, and pollutant molecules in the air. No harmful substances are released during the sanitation process: WIVActive technology is safe for humans, animals, and the environment.
